You will create a video that is 1-2 minutes long using Adobe Spark Video.
In the video, you will convey a value that becoming a connected educator has brought to you.
The audience of this video is other teachers.
Criteria for Your Video Story
Your video story will:
Be made using Adobe Spark Video, a free tool that you may use on an iPad or computer. More details are below.
Have a title.
Include your name and a link to your blog or/and your Twitter handle at the end.
Be 1-3 minutes in length
Include your voice narration, which will play over images (you will not appear in the video unless you choose to include an image of you).
Include background music.
BE CREATIVE. You might want to think of your video as a public service announcement persuading educators to see the value in a digital PLN.
Here are some questions/prompts you may wish to address through your video:
What skills did you acquire through developing your PLN? And how are these skills related to digital citizenship skills? Do you feel more confident in your abilities now to mentor your students' digital citizenship skills?
How is learning through a PLN different from "centralized instruction" and why is it important for teachers to experience this type of learning? Does it make you more empathetic towards the future lives of your students?
How did you feel as you starting Tweeting? Blogging? What value came out of these risks? And why should others put themselves in this uncomfortable situation?
Your video will demonstrate these digital literacy skills:
The ability to use video to concisely communicate a concept in 1-2 minutes.
The ability to communicate a message using spoken words, images, and music.
The ability to search for and select visual (icons or/and photos) from a web-based repository that are licensed for re-use.
The ability to record audio.
The ability to search for and select music that is licensed for your re-use.
The ability to embed a video in a blog post (that will be covered in the second assignment in this Module).
