1, 2, 3 ... Get Started
Before you sit down in front of your computer or iPad and start to create your story (using Adobe Spark Video), try these three strategies:
1. Write. Place yourself in the shoes of your character. Imagine the "what if" question you have selected. Now write about what this experience is like. This may include listing adjectives to describe how it feels or looks. As you write, identify a beginning, middle, and end.
- Beginning: What is the problem that the "what if" question starts to unravel?
- Middle: This is where the "what if" scenario starts to take shape. Things start to change in the middle.
- End: What has changed from the beginning to the end? What is still to come?
2. Storyboard. Many people find it helpful to sketch out parts of your story in a visual format. This can be as simple as taking a blank piece of paper, white board, or a doc on your iPad; making several boxes; and sketching out a timeline of your story. Everybody works differently, however. For some people storyboarding complicates the process. For others, it helps them to have a plan with the video.

3. Discuss. Talk to someone (a friend, peer, family member) about your story. Listen to their feedback. When you translate your ideas from written to spoken form, you may see them in a different light and come up with new ideas. And listening to others' feedback can be really helpful too.
