Course Description
Focuses on ways teachers use technology to teach K-12 students.

This class is open to CI graduate students only. Non-enrolled CI students may register for this class through Open University Links to an external site..
Student Learning Outcomes
As a result of completing this class, students will be able to:
- Recognize the ways in which they learn best and how this influences their teaching, especially with regard to teaching with technology.
- Teach others how to use computers and different computer applications.
- Analyze use of and identify appropriate uses of technology as a tool to achieve desired teaching and learning goals (technology means various types of computers, peripherals, technology using the Internet, computer applications, and assistive devices).
- Evaluate and model appropriate use of copyright, fair use standards, and principles of Universal Design for Learning.
- Use and be able to teach students how to use the Internet as an effective research tool.
- Create and use multimedia to support teaching and learning using a variety of technologies.
- Analyze different approaches to teaching using online and other distributed (also known as distance) forms of education (such as video conferencing, synchronous & asynchronous discussions, learning management systems).
- Develop and maintain a basic professional portfolio website.
- Critique the effectiveness of how they and other use technology as a teaching tool.
