Course Description

This course provides opportunities for application of an integrative, family-centered approach to the care of mothers, infants, and women. Emphasis is placed on normal growth and development, normal and high-risk pregnancies, family dynamics and the promotion of healthy behaviors. Focus is on the care of families during childbearing years, including both normal, and high-risk conditions. Integration of health promotion and growth and development, using the nursing process while applying Neuman Systems Model is explored. Clinical experiences provide the student an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe patient centered care to mothers, infants, and women in simulated and selected patient care settings. Prerequisites: NRS 200, 201, 303, 304, 306 Corequisites: NRS 230

Description of QLT Course Design

I will publish my syllabus in canvas 2 weeks prior to the start of class giving the students ample time to gather the required and recommended materials.
I have developed my syllabus in Google Docs
The syllabus will be available for the students to view in canvas prior to the start of class providing them with support and guidance to prepare for the start of class. The text is part of the Lippincott bundle the students have previously purchased for the nursing program.
